Queensland Crowns On The Line At Rush Surf State Junior Surfing Titles!
Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Thursday 7th October 2010: QUEENSLAND’S best U/18 and U/16 male and female junior surfers are all set for the final round of the 2010 Rush Surf Queensland State Junior Titles.
The Rush Surf Queensland State Junior Titles is a two-event series providing the exclusive qualification pathway for the state’s elite juniors vying for prestigious state titles and selection inQueensland’s junior surfing team.
Concluding this weekend on the Sunshine Coast (October 9-10) the series boasts some of the biggest up-and-coming names in the Queensland junior surfing ranks, with top competitors travelling to Phillip Island (Victoria) in November for the Australian Junior Surfing Titles.
Sol Pereira-Ryan (Snapper Rocks, Qld), Kai Hing (Wurtulla, Qld) Naomi McCarthy (Currumbin, Qld) and Brodie and Amiya Doyle (Coolangatta) will be just some of the big name up-and-comers chasing a prestigious state title this weekend.
The Queensland State Junior Titles is a key stepping stone in Surfing Queensland’s development pathway, with the likes of Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson and Bede Durbidge a few of the high profile athletes who’ve previously competed in this series.
