Already with surfers on the world surfing tour during the 1980’s,such as Peter Harris ,The Burleigh Boardriders Club have surfers competing at the highest levels of surfing on the World Championship Tour (2008/Jay “Bottle” Thompson) and on the World Qualifying Series as well.
Burleigh Point is a world class wave, and has produced many world class surfers. We intend to keep doing so, and to help our junior surfers become the best they can.
Burleigh Boardriders also hold the Burleigh Boardriders Single Fin Festival in early January each year, where on the Friday the annual charity luncheon is held, where money is raised to help support the development of junior surfers in the club, and to help support local & other charities. Supported by national and international celebrities and sport stars, the luncheon is one of the highlights of the Burleigh Boardriders year.
The Burleigh Boardriders Single Fin Classic is a unique contest in the surfing world, where surfers compete on antique single fin boards, only original boards made pre 1985 are allowed to be surfed in the event. No prizemoney is on offer, but surfers compete for the glory and honour of being crowned the Burleigh Boardriders Single Fin Classic champion. The event was first held in 1997 in memory of member Peter Roberts, but now is held in memory of past surfers of the point that have passed from this world.Burleigh Boardriders are custodians of Burleigh Point, and the well being of our sacred home is the issue foremost in our agenda, along with the well being of those who surf here.

Hello I cannot see how to join and what is the cost thanks Dale.
Great to see everyone enjoying the 2021 Single Fin competition over the weekend 9-10 Jan.
However moving forward to next year’s competition, we the residents of Hayle Street Burleigh Heads will have 12 months to work with you and other partners to STOP the illegal parking in our neighbourhood during this event.
It is a reflection on your organisation and event for those you attend having a complete disregard for the safety of the residents of our neighbourhood.
Car driving along footpaths to illegally parking on parkland is just one example of the mindset of visitors to your event.
Permit only parking for our street will be just one of the ways we are looking to avoid a potential disaster happening between cars and humans.
I look forward to seeing how this plays out.
Disappointed to see no warning on your event page asking visitors to RESPECT the residents of the area.
